Heartbreak as Yugoslavia get injury time winner.

Brian Kerr's Republic of Ireland Under-17s have failed in their bid to qualify for next year's European Championships after losing their final group match to Yugoslavia 2-1 at Richmond Park this evening. The talented Yugoslavs, like Ireland boasting two wins from two in the qualifying tournament this week, took the lead in the first half through Vukcevic, but Paul Murphy equalised from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute.

With the game heading for extra-time and the possibility of penalties, the visitors struck for a cruel winner on the stroke of full time through Brusanovic to deny Kerr's youngsters a place at the finals, which are to be held in Denmark.
