The official attendance was given as 29,451 with gate receipts of 4,150 pounds,
The game had a dramatic finish, with Ireland leading 3 goals to 2 the ball ended up in the Irish net after a corner - The referee explains in his own words "There were twenty seconds to go, when the corner kick came, so I let the kick be taken and blew as it was on the way across"
The fact that the referee blew his whistle and pointed to the centre circle left a lot of spectators leaving Dalymount on the mis understanding that the game had been drawn 3-3.
Ireland with a typical show of Irish fervour, enthuasism and toughness had defeated Germany who had beaten the great Austrians in Vienna.
Burke who was making his debut in the centree of defence had afine game - with Burke the star in defence it was Eglington who was the satr in attack.
His ability to dribble with the inside or outside of his foot at the speed of a 100 yards man bamboozled the entire German defence.
Bouquets were also hande out to young Fitzsimons the boy who was expected to make the goals and instead showed the other forwards how to shoot. Apart from his goal he had a better effort which rebounded off the underside of the bar.
WP Murphy went on to say "Fitzsimons third appearanace for Ireland certainly proved lucky for the Middlesborough man and in him we (Ireland) have found our inside forward for many years to come"
Ireland took the lead when a long ball was put through by Glynn to Fiztsimons- with Turek the german keeper advancing to try and clear the danger but Posipal in trying to clear sent the ball over the keepers head for an own goal.
Morlock had to leave the pitch after 35 minutes after a challenge from Fallon. While Germany were down to 10 men Ireland scored their second goal. Fitzsimons taking a pass from Ringstead deceived the whole German defence and scored witha fierce left footeddrive from the edge of the penalty area.

Eighteen minutes into the second half Germany scored their opening goal when Walter scored after a pass from Morlock.
With 15 minutes remaining Germany got on level terms when Morlock scored with a shot from the edge of the box after the Irish defence had failed to clear an intensive Germa raid.
The winning goal came 5 minutes from time when Eglington sent in a cross and with Glynn taking the ball under control he rounded keeper Turek to score the winning goal.
