Hayley Nolan (born 7 March 1997) is a Republic of Ireland international footballer who played for the Hartford Hawks.[1] The Hartford Hawks are the athletic teams of the University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, Connecticut.
Nolan began playing association football with Kill Celtic Football club at the age of six. She played with the boys teams up until Under 12s. Nolan then signed for her first womens team, Peamount United F.C. She also showed her potential as a Gaelic Footballer, playing for Kill GAA (County Kildare).[3] Nolan represented her county, Kildare GAA, at Under 12,14,16 and minor.[4]
Playing association football as a schoolgirl, Nolan won honours at provincial and national level, representing both Peamount United F.C. her high school, St.Marys College Naas.[5] Nolan won two all Ireland finals with Peamount United F.C. Nolan was named player of the match when Peamount United F.C. beat Salthill Devon F.C. in the final. Nolan then signed for Peamount United F.C. senior womens side in Womens National League (Ireland), aged sixteen. She went on to help Peamount United F.C. reach the final of WNL Cup, where they competed against Raheny United F.C.[6][7] Nolan was awarded player of the game.[8]
Nolan has represented the Republic of Ireland at U-15, U-16, U-17, U-19. Nolan was also a member of the Republic of Ireland team that won their group at the 2014 UEFA Womens Under-19 Championship and qualified for the semi-final.[18] In 2014, she was nominated, along with two other team members, for the Under-19 Womens International Player of the Year at the FAI International Football Awards.[19]
In April 2016, Nolan scored two goals in a 2016 UEFA Womens Under-19 Championship qualifier. One against Azerbaijan on 7 April[20] and the other against Poland on the 10th.[21]
Nolan received her first call up to the Senior Republic of Ireland squad for the UEFA Womens Euro 2021 qualifying match v Ukraine in Tallaght Stadium in October 2019.
